Are You Battling To Identify The Common Signs Of Endo?

Let Us Help Define Endometriosis’ Meaning and Help Identify Any Risk Of This Condition

If you’re looking for more information about endometriosis, read on to find out more about this common and painful condition and how we can help you identify if you might be at risk of having it.

How Do We Define Endometriosis?

We define endometriosis, or endo, as:

‘A medical condition that occurs when the lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, grows in other places, such as the fallopian tubes, ovaries or along the pelvis. When that lining breaks down, like the regular lining in the uterus that produces the menstruation, it has nowhere to go.’

Do You Have Endo? Are You Aware Of The Symptoms?

This uncomfortable condition can cause heavy and painful periods, ovarian cysts and can lead to infertility if untreated.

While not everyone will experience endo symptoms, the most commonly reported are:

  • Severe period cramping: Contrary to what most of us believe, extreme period pain is not normal. When you experience period cramping and pain so intense that it interferes with your work and normal daily activities, you may have undiagnosed endometriosis.

  • Ovarian cysts (endometriomas): These harmless but painful ‘chocolate’ cysts fill with menstrual tissue and blood giving them a brown, chocolate-like appearance and occur deep within the ovaries.

  • Other related discomforts: Having endo means uterine tissue and associated ‘menstrual’ bleeding occurs outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tubes or ovaries, and sometimes in the bladder and bowels. People living with the condition can also experience pain when they ovulate, during sex, or when going to the toilet.

Endometriosis can even cause fatigue and other less common symptoms, including irregular bleeding between periods, changes in urination or bowel movements, such as urgency or frequency, constipation or diarrhoea.

Know whether you’re struggling with undiagnosed endometriosis and what to do about it.

At Endologicsᵀᴹ, we offer an early diagnostic tool through an online questionnaire to define your symptoms. We then follow up on the questionnaire with professional feedback. We provide symptom assessment, analysis, and a provisional differential diagnosis.

Importantly we give you an effective endo management plan developed by our endometriosis surgeon of 35 years, Dr Graham Tronc. You can then use this feedback under the supervision of your general practitioner (GP) or specialist gynaecologist following diagnosis confirmation.
